Christmas In The Village

Tonight at the Village Crepe in Pickerington our church has put together a family Christmas Gathering beginning at 7pm. If you are in the area and would like to join us please feel free to drop by.  If you can’t make it over but would still like to participate tonight please pray for us! Here are a few prayer requests for tonight:

  • For the presence of Jesus to felt among the people
  • For Jesus to speak through me a message of hope to everyone there tonight
  • For the Village Crepe to be full of people tonight!
  • For people to know the hope that is only found during Christmas in the person and work of Jesus

I want to thank all of those who have been praying for this night already.  We are running right on schedule in terms of getting things together.  I am excited and nervous all at the same time.  I LOVE watching the Spirit of God do amazing things in terms of drawing people together to hear the message of Jesus.  Can’t wait to watch God work!

Club JV In West Virginia

I had the honor of speaking about Jesus to a group of Middle School Students and Adults from Black Rock Church in Fairfield, CT. This ministry is led by a great friend of mine – Pastor Tim Blow.  I was given the responsibility of speaking 10 times (5 mornings and 5 evenings) and it was great to see God at work in my own heart and the hearts of the students and adults.  While I was there the students were asking if they could get copies of the notes and presentations that I used and so here they are.  They are pretty raw still but I think they can be followed well enough

Links to the notes and the presentations are below (right click to download).

Notes PDF – Contains the notes from all 10 talks (5 morning and 5 evening Lessons).

Ordination Exam Week

I have desired to be ordained almost as soon as I graduated from college.  Because of one thing or another I have not been able to go through a process for ordination until being with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. I have been in full-time ministry for almost 9 years and I am almost to the finish line!  Many of you have prayed that I would take a HUGE written exam well.  I thank you for your prayers.  This past Tuesday I took an exam consisting of 124 essay questions.  I finished the exam in 7 1/2 hours.  I received my results on Wednesday morning. God is so good and answered our prayers for a good exam.  Out of 201 possible points I missed 4.5 points, giving me a score of 98%!!  I was so thrilled.  Thank you very much for your support as I have gone through this process.

Please pray for me on Monday June 13th at 11:00 AM.  I will be finishing the examination process by sitting before a panel of men who will ask theological and personal questions for 1.5 hours.  After this time of grilling is done (wink), they will tell me whether or not I will be a reverend in the Alliance.  I can’t wait!!  Thanks again for your prayers.  God is faithful.

My Community Group on Osama

Christina and I are a part of a community group on Wednesday nights that has formed in Gahanna, Ohio.  We have been meeting since February and things are going great.  Tonight (May 4th), our conversation converged around Osama Bin Laden’s death and how the world is reacting to it. As we thought about this evil man’s death the reaction in the room was mixed.  He was so bad but it was a shame that this man was killed in the process.  Its weird to think about.  OBL has been a part of killing so many innocent people and so we think that he should die for his crimes. Then he does die but it seems almost anti climatic. So as people cheered in the streets on Sunday night, I cheered with them a la Proverbs 11:10,“When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices, And when the wicked perish, there is joyful shouting.”

Then tonight at Community Group I was taught about Proverbs 24:17-18, “Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles; or the LORD will see it and be displeased, And turn His anger away from him.” I have to admit I am still thinking about these two verses and what they mean and what my heart needs to do about them.

So as the conversation ebbed on and we began to talk about the Armor of God and how God has given this to us for our protection, we considered that our daily battles are not about flesh and blood. Then as a group member said so well, “as Christians we don’t rejoice because Osama is dead.  We rejoice that God has dealt with this evil man and that he saw fit to rid the world of him since God is in control of all things.”  I couldn’t agree more. I am so glad that God uses these people in my life to help me understand God more and more and bring me back down from shouting when my enemy has fallen.

Pickerington Prayer Walk – REscheduled

The first work in church planting is prayer and we would love to have you join us physically to walk and pray together.  As you know we have been planning on praying together this coming Sunday for a few weeks now.  Unfortunately we are now having to REschedule. We have been praying for opportunities to bring hope to the hurting and I have an opportunity to step into one of those situations on Sunday afternoon.  We are very sorry to have to REschedule but we will have to in order to be focused on people.

Here are the NEW details: Gather at the Bieri’s @ 3pm on March 27, 2011.  We will walk around town and pray in groups.  Around 5pm we will make our way back to our home to have dinner together and enjoy one another’s company!  So that you can find our home in Pickerington, here is our address:

Pickerington is Home

So we have completed our move from Dayton to Pickerington over the new year holiday. Christina and I were unpacking boxes and watching the Buckeyes last night.  It has been so good to see God moving us into position to serve Him over the last year and we can’t wait to see what God has in store over this next year.

B90X – Reading the Entire Bible in 90 days!

youversion.com reading plan

So I have just started P90X the workout program again and man I am sore!  But at the end of the first round of P90X I started thinking about reading through the Bible in 90 days.  Then I went to The Xenos Summer Institute at Xenos Christian Fellowship in Columbus, Ohio and during one of the breakout sessions it was mentioned that there is a least one men’s group at Xenos that reads through the Bible every 90 days!  This insane bit of Bible reading is a prerequisite to being in the group!  I thought that is X-treme like the late 90′s and now I really want to see if I can do that!

I began to look for a reading plan (surely there had to be one online) and sure enough I found a customizable plan created by BibleGateway.com but put into a really cool format by YouVersion.com, which I can access through my iPhone or on my computer!  So 29 days ago I began a journey reading through the scriptures.  I have read through the Bible in college and at a pretty rapid pace but this has been outstanding.  At first I thought that the pace would really be crazy but because of the quickness of my reading I am remembering things that fit together like God’s various promises to individuals and who goes with what family, which has been so nice!  The other thing that I have done is I keep a small notebook with me as I read and I at the end of each chapter I write a one line summary of the action taking place in that chapter.  This has made my reading much more active and I believe has really helped with my reading retention!  If you are up to it B90X is a great way to get a bird’s eye view of the Bible and just listen to God’s Word in a fresh way.  It’s definitely a commitment of energy and time but so far after almost 30 days I know that the reward is going to be worth it!

If you are on YouVersion.com let me know by following clintbieri.   Also, if you would like to check out the reading plans you can visit YouVersion.com and get hooked up for free!

this might just work!

For those who know me really well, you know that I always have something cooking in my head.  Some of my crazy thoughts are worth trying and Boondocks Web Development might be a gold mine!  I enjoy tech and gadgets and using this site has been a cool way to “geek out” when I need a break from ministry.  My Dad and I, about 9 months ago, starting talking about creating a company whose goal would be to create websites for rural churches with big impact and small cost.  I am proud to present to you all, Boondocks Web Development!

www.boondocksdev.com

My goal in creating Boondocks is two-fold: 1) To serve small, rural churches on tight budgets and give then a billboard on the internet highway for the people of their community to drive by.  My prayer is that in some small way we can advance the kingdom of  God through developing websites.  2) As a part of my church planting residency, I have to start something from scratch and hand it off to another person.  This little company is going to help me start something and then I am training my Dad to take it over and have a viable business.  I know that this is going to be a lot of work but the projects that we have been a part of have been a lot of fun.  Here is a list of clients we have worked for in creating their website:

If you are in need of a website built for yourself, your small company or especially your small church – please send a message to us at Boondocks by visiting our contact page or maybe even signing up for our “once-in-a-while” Enews letter!
