Prayer Requests

I have a brief prayer request to give you as well as an opportunity to worship Jesus with some fun news!

Request:

  • I am preaching this weekend at Center Pointe for the first time from Psalm 136 about God’s steadfast love for people.  Please join Christina and I in praying that God would illuminate the hearts of many who are still outside of God’s family and that He would draw people to himself this weekend and that people would know with their head and their heart that God loves them.

Praises:

  • This past weekend was a wonderful time with the Jr High Students at Winter Blast where I had the opportunity to speak.  It was a ton of fun and I wanted you all to know that 5 students came to know Christ over the weekend making first time decisions to know Him!  It was a thrill to be a part of what God was doing in the kids.  Thank you for praying and know that God answered out prayers in a cool way!
  • We are currently at 32.5% of our monthly support raised for 2010!  I am so very excited!  Please help us thank God for His provision.  Also, because of one time gifts and such, we have met our income goal for February!  I can’t even believe it!  God is great and worthy of praise!  We still have a ways to go to achieve 100% funding but I am confident that God will provide!

If you would like to know more about becoming a financial partner please click here for more information!

Thanks again friends for praying for us and encouraging us!  We will be in touch with more news about how God is working in us and through us!

p.s. take 30 seconds and pray this scripture with me:

Luke 10:2 “The harvest in plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

Winter Blast 2010

Winter Blast has been a blast.  It has been great connecting with my friends Mark Butler, Phil Woodman, Chris Hansen, & Michael Cuellar.  I have met many other wonderful folks and the students have been a ton of fun.  I really don’t have much to say accept – Praise the Lord for the wonderful things He has done in the lives of the kids.  Last night during our session 5 students crossed the line of faith and began a eternal relationship with Jesus the Son of God.  It is overwhelming to be a part of God drawing people to himself!

I wanted to give you a couple of highlights and so I have posted a few photos! Continue Reading…

Blessed to be used by God

Some times you never know how God will use us in this life to make an impact for His kingdom.  I had the opportunity to speak at Dayton Christian this past spring to both the High School and Middle School.  I spoke on the topic of all of us having Asterisks in our lives – basically “fine print”.  It was a powerful experience to be a part of as students listed out their fine print via text messages for other students read and see.

This morning I stumbled across this article that a Dayton Christian student wrote about this particular day in April. I was blessed to know how God used me in my quest to love and serve Jesus.  I share this not to brag but just… because it was an encouragement to me that I wanted a record of.  Below is an article by a journalism student at Dayton Christian sharing what God did in a DC chapel:

Dayton Christian Exposes Its Wounds

De’ Juan Harland Edwards

Thursday April 2, the seemingly unscathed spiritual world of the Dayton Christian student body was disrupted by their surprisingly real world problems. When asked about the impact the chapel had on DCHS, teacher Greg Kurtz said, “The message had an extremely significant impact on the student body. The premise was right; we all have asterisks.”

Asterisks were the illustrations that speaker Clint Bieri used to point out the simple fact that all people, even believers, have issues or “fine print” that we must deal with to move forward. Through a short code text message, students admitted to issues ranging from divorced parents to spiritual doubt.

Bieri delivered his message in a style that was simple and conversational as opposed to a traditional lecturing format. His blatant honesty about the major asterisk in his life made students comfortable about sharing theirs. Bieri spoke with a tone that didn’t command the students to repent but pleaded with them to begin healing.

The words spoken to the DCHS students took root in the hearts of many. Students could identify with the message because of its real world applicability. When questioned about the relativity of Bieri’s words to our school, Junior Daniel Goffe simply stated, “His message is valid everywhere. We all have things that we need to deal with and realizing that is the first step to overcoming them.”

Social Media Is Here To Stay

Today I had the wonderful opportunity to speak at the High School Chapel of Dayton Christian.  They are such a great audience and I can always sense that they are receptive to God’s word.  Today I had the topic of Social Media’s Impact on our culture (especially in the lives of teens).  I wanted to post a few more comments, my message outline, as well as the YouTube Video that I used today so that more people can hopefully understand the imprint that Social Media is making in everyone’s life whether they like it or not.
